The AMO Physics Center’s investigators work together individually and as groups on many different, exciting projects aimed at opening up new frontiers in physics. Their expertise in atomic, molecular, and optical physics allows them to use advanced research technologies (including ultralow temperatures, exquisitely precise measurement, and ultrafast time scales) to explore critical scientific questions in AMO physics, precision measurement, as well as chemical and biological physics.
Collaborations play a central role in research at the AMO-Physics Center, and some projects may include as many as six research groups within the center. These joint efforts focus on some of the most challenging problems in modern physics.
